I was disappointed by this show. I am an absolutely incredibly dedicated fan to Iron and Wine, but I couldn't help but be disappointed yet again by their performance.
After waiting 2 hours standing in one tight spot waiting for their performance, I had to actually leave to go sit in another room minutes before they came on. And this after waiting an hour for the starting band to come on. This in my opinion was far too long of a wait for the main show... fan's shouldn't have to suffer to try to enjoy a show.
Besides the long wait and over crowdedness of the venue, the show was disappointing as Sam's music is known for it's serene, soft, soothing and engulfing music... and his talent was lost in the music as it became a show piece to prove how creative they could get on stage, but the songs ventured way to far from the original. It was hard to tell what song was being played at times (and trust me I know the songs)... the only thing that often stayed true to the original was the lyrics, but those were even sung to a different tune at times.
I just wish I could see and hear a live show that emphasizes the perfection of his music, not takes away from it.
