Been a fan of Stanleys for years and this concert did not disappoint. Hiromi totaly blew me away. She literally ate the piano up.

  • STANLEY - BASS-ICALLY A GREAT PERFORMANCE

It was appropriate that on the last day of school - School Days was the theme for a great evening at the TD Jazz Fest. Stanley was amazing and to have a chance to be that close to witness a tour de force by the Stanley Clarke Band was outstanding. All virtuosos on their instruments and each delivering their expertise with individual personality, it was fun to watch the interplay. Kudos to the TD Jazz fest for including some amazing Fusion in the mix. Having a chance to meet and greet after the show was a nice touch. Thanks!!

  • Stanley Clarke featuring Hiromi

by Parkman on 2010-06-29Toronto Star Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

You won't see much better. It was an energized display of top musical talent. Clarke is a master of his trade. Who needs a guitar in you quartet when he can fill that role just playing chords on the bass. Hiromi is just like the Energizer Bunny and gets up and down the piano kyes faster than lightning. The keyboard fella was a throw back to the sixties in his worn blue jeans and T-shirt garb. Looks like Clarke was helping groom his young talent often challenging him to play along and improvise to the bass line. But, the drummer, well he was over the top. I don't remember seeing one get a standing ovation in the middle of the set. Sometimes the combination of talent is really worth the costly price of admission!

  • Stanley Clarke - Fabulous !

I knew Stanley Clarke was going to put on an amazing show, I've seen him a few times over the last 20-some years !! I just love his unique sound and the skill and ease of his playing is just so wonderful to watch! His really sexy too ! And with the seats we had - it was almost like sitting on the stage - so we got to really get a good look at him!!! Great sound system - I was grinning with excitement the whole time. I've never, ever seen anything like that little Hiromi !! Her brilliant playing combined with the absolute joy that she shows - she puts her whole body into the keys - just made the show unbelievable !! We LOVED IT !
