La traviata Tickets

It was a great performance! However, I can see that the capital of this first world country doesn't really provide funds for Arts. I have been on Opera events "on develop countries" where singers have the whole stage and also have amazing scenery and costumes. Do we not have budget for that in Ottawa/Gatineau? It was very sad to see singers using the same costumes for different acts of the opera. If this is the opera in Ottawa the cost of the tickets are definitely too expensive.

Not what I have expected but never the less was BIG! The voices were powerful and clear. We enjoyed it immensely.

The opera music and singers were wonderful and overall the night was very enjoyable. We would have of course, preferred a full opera performance rather than the concert presentation. The view was great, the sound very good, but the seats themselves were uncomfortable. It was extremely dry in the venue irritating our eyes and throats .

Seeing the stage filled with orchestra was unexpected, thought there would be a real stage setup with the orchestra in the bottom. Nevertheless, the singers performed very well given the small space in front. The subtitling was new to me, while it helps a lot to keep up with the story it distracts a lot from paying attention to the music. Overall was a superb performance although I got the feeling that costs were cut in the production.

Violetta has an outstanding voice. This was my first time at the opera and althoufh there was no set per se, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
