Jimmy Eat World in Concert

Jimmy Eat World started in 1993 as a punk trio formed by childhood friends Jim Adkins and Zach Lind. After years of hard work in the studio and on the road, the band settled on a poppier sound, hitting the spotlight in 2001 with breakthrough album Bleed American. The album included several successful singles including "The Middle," which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became an MTV staple. After extensive touring in support of the album, the band returned to the studio for 2004's Futures, which peaked at No. 6 and earned the band another No. 1 single with "Pain." Chase This Light in 2007 and Invented in 2010 would achieve similar success, cementing the band's role as one of the most successful indie acts in the business.

In 2013, Jimmy Eat World celebrated 20 years of independently released records with Damage, their critically-acclaimed eighth studio album. At their live concerts, the band delivers a blast of non-stop energy and enthusiasm, delighting ticket buyers with heavy guitar riffs, boisterously precise drum solos, and three-part vocal harmonies anchored by the familiar croon of frontman Jim Adkins. 2013's Damage saw the band transition from teen-angst rock towards a more sophisticated sound, with lyrical content taking on a markedly more mature tone on singles like the album's title track and "I Will Steal You Back."

Not the first time we've seen them, and it has never been a disappointment!

  • Phenomenal show & venue!

    by Dana B on 2022-10-02History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Probably one of my best concert experiences ever! I've never been to this venue before, but we effortlessly found parking (affordable!) right behind venue within 2 minute walk away, entrance was fast & efficient, venue was spacious and clean - was able to grab all the merch I wanted and coat-check it for $4.50 so I could enjoy the show without holding a pile of apparel. Was front row at the barrier and really enjoyed the opening band Pony. Great energy and the female vocalist had a cute yet powerful voice. The security staff ended up handing me 2 bottles of water so I had a pretty VIP feeling experience front stage. Jimmy Eat World played an AMAZING show (as always) and played an incredible set list. I'm also hella pumped over the fact they played the song 23 as the encore, which is my personal favourite. All in all- great show, great venue, and being so close to my future husband Jim Adkins was pretty rad too.

Jimmy Eat World put on a fantastic show. My wife is the fan so I went in with no expectations (and not much knowledge of their music). I was blown away at how good they were. Tons of energy and great playing. Loved it!

They were simply great!! They were so full of energy, the place was rockin' and for the price of the ticket (cheap), it made it worth every penny!!!!!!! I almost drove to Edmonton to see them again.

  • Kick Ass Show

by Jillybilly on 2013-08-05The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show. I'm not a huge fan, but all their songs sounded awesome and lots of passion. They sounded so good. Easily one of the best concerts that I have been to and totally worth the price. I like most of the singles they have but have not bought an album. I even bought a t-shirt at the end of the show.
