  • Such an amazing venue & the bands killed their sets!!!

by Tum on 2024-05-10The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The venue has lots of space & balcony seating if chosen during checkout ♡ My spouse & I had an absolute blast @ the Hot Water Music 30th Anniversary Concert! We will definitely be returning again around December for The Flatliners.

  • Hot Water Music are relentless

HWM always puts on an amazing high energy show. Their song catalogue continues to grow and evolve. They now are performing with Chris form the Flatliners and have rejuvenated the band. Would travel any ware withing 500km to see them play.

  • Great show, GREAT tix price! Poor sound quality.

I love Hot Water Music and was stoked not only to find them coming to town, but at a very reasonable admission on top of that ($25! MORE bands should fall in this range. At that price I can see 12 bands a year rather than 4 at $60 a pop. But I digress...) Hot Water Music were great (as expected) but what wasn't expected was the terrible mix and overall sound quality. While it would be easy to blame the venue this isn't the case as the warm-up act sounded great (I believe it was La Dispute though not quite sure as we walked in mid-set. Oops. Great energy and tight band but the vocalist left much to be desired, IMO). They were clear, great mix, LOUD, everything you want in a sound venue. When Hot Water Music hit the stage it was with a low-range muddy guitar mix and vocals buried within. I thought it would be cleared up a song or two into the set but no, the mix suffered throughout the full set. Bummer for sure. What was a great night, could have been magical! That aside, it was a great show and a great night out. Oh, and I picked up Exister on vinyl on my way out the door. *high-five*
