About

Eivør on Tour

Singer-songwriter Eivør Pálsdóttir, known simply as Eivør, hails from the Faroe Islands, midway between Iceland and Norway. Her haunting, otherworldly music almost seems as if it emanated from the breathtaking subarctic islands' craggy mountains and dramatic fjords themselves. Drawing on dark electronic pop, folk, jazz, and classical influences, she creates distinctly beautiful soundscapes that have garnered her fans around the world.

Eivør's top 10 tracks on Spotify have been streamed more than 34 million times combined and she recently received the prestigious Nordic Council Music Prize. This is no surprise given that she's been honing her craft for decades, drawing comparisons to such notable artists as Björk and Kate Bush. Eivør rewards listeners with her impressive vocal prowess, confident songwriting and otherworldly instrumentation. The prolific artist released her ninth full-length album, Segl, in 2020.

Fans of the BBC Netflix series, "The Last Kingdom," will recognize Eivør's ethereal vocals from the show's gorgeous theme song and soundtrack. Don't miss Eivør on her 2022 world tour, which includes many North American dates from the East to the West Coast and several points in between. The Eivør Tour visits the UK and Europe in the fall.

Eivør Live in Concert

Born and raised in Syðrugøta, a small village in the remote Faroe Islands, Eivør began her singing career at age 13 when she won a nationally televised singing competition. To refine her natural vocal skills, she moved to Reykjavík, Iceland, to work with a renowned vocal coach and later fronted rock and jazz bands Clickhaze and Yggdrasil, respectively.

Since branching out on her own, Eivør has grown into a confident, gifted vocalist and songwriter, appealing to a global audience. The prolific artist has released nine full-length studio albums and almost as many live records. What's more, in addition to providing vocals for "The Last Kingdom" soundtrack, her music has been used in the HBO fantasy series "Game of Thrones" and in popular video games "God of War" and "Metal Gear Survive," garnering her several new fans who had plenty of back catalog to explore.

The Faroese songstress performs in her native tongue and in English, and her sound incorporates elements of jazz and world music into her unique brand of dark electronic pop. Although she enjoys the structured process of studio recording, Eivør says that the magic happens live. She likens her live performance style to beatboxing, often improvising and singing what she feels, leaving the audience hanging on her every breath.

  • A Night to Remember: Eivør Live

by Skullbright on 2025-03-07The Great Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

What an experience of a lifetime! Eivør was nothing short of extraordinary, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the concert. She performed many of my favourite songs from her diverse discography, and her voice, coupled with her captivating stage presence, was truly breathtaking. I had the pleasure of meeting her after the concert, and she was incredibly warm, kind, and amusing. Her genuine spirit made the evening even more memorable. I sincerely hope she returns to our town soon; if not, I would gladly travel to see her perform live again. This concert was a remarkable testament to her talent, uniqueness and artistry, and I cannot recommend her enough. ❤️

  • Eivor - Toronto Feb.18, 2025

The Venue was good as far as acoustics go and the performers gave it all! Eivor and Band were amazing and Sylvain was amazing! The only issue was the snow on the sidewalk outside. Very hard to walk through without slipping and falling which some of us did. Surely someone from the venue could have done a bit of shoveling.

The whole show had incredible fun energy and positive vibes. Eivor’s voice is ethereal and her drumming mesmerizing. The opening singer Sylvaine has a powerful voice and we enjoyed her music as well!
