It was amazing!! Great sound!! lots of audience participation.
As a huge fan of Final Fantasy growing up, this show brought back a lot of memories. I loved that they focused on my favourites FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII and FFX. They even had surprises lined up for the big fans. I don't want to spoil too much, but its definitely worth the money to go.
The whole Distant Worlds experience was beautiful and unforgettable. The mysic was superb and it was fun for the young and old lovers of Final Fantasy. I would recommend this to anyone who has a love of the games! Nobuo Uematsu was in attendance as wel!!
Absolutely amazing. Great music great performance!
As a video game fan in general, and a Final Fantasy fan in particular, this even was everything I hoped it would be. The inclusion of local talent for the choir was an extremely nice touch, and even after two hours you left wanting more. If this ever comes back to Edmonton, it is WELL worth the ticket price.
Unfortunately we were stuck in front of a rude group who talked through the entire first half of the show. The second half was great after we asked them to be quiet. It definitely ruined my experience and why this got 4 stars instead of 5.
Concert was amazing. It was my first time going and I'll definitely be going next year!
Amazing show...the music sounded exactly like in the video games that it almost feels like it was all recorded, but it's not. Everything was live and played perfectly by the orchestra. Very nostalgic music and the conductor was very fun and upbeat. I highly recommend this to every Final Fantasy fan out there.
It was an interesting time to hear and see the music for the Final Fantasy games. The orchastra played beautifully, as did the choir. Sadly I feel like most of the music played was the more "well known" and "popular" I was hoping for more of the older games songs to be revamped, or even have more character theme songs played. Out of five stars I give it a three. I would indeed recommend this to my friends
The orchestra did a phenomenal job with playing a variety of scores from Final Fantasy. The choir also did a wonderful job with the vocals. I felt chills throughout my soul and shed some tears during some songs. I was happy that they played a song from FFXV! I hope to see more FFXV scores and Prompto added to the Chocobo song video in the future!
Beautiful. Hearing these old songs and seeing videos of these old games reminds me of the 100's of hours put into them. Like a sage with forgotten spells, it's a true delight to return to some of them. The musicians made some mistakes. One time even looked incredulously at each other when Arnie the composer asked them to stand for all the cheers and applause. It may be strange for them to not be critized for anything, because as a group who came to listen to our memories, the musicians are simply a tribute band and not the main attraction. I loved it. I wanted more songs. My only disappointment was that there were no Final Fantasy Tactics songs.
Distant worlds is an amazing orchestra. I cried when they played zanarkand, laughed when they played the Chocobo medley, and rocked out with one winged angel. 10/10 would go again.
I'm familiar with the series but not a hardcore fan. I appreciated the music and the performance but compared to other video game orchestra concerts, this one seemed shorter, especially when taking the intermission into account.
An experience that every FF fan should have. The music was outstanding, and the crowd was amazing!
This was the second symphony I had ever attended. The first being Symphony of the Goddesses. To be fair, that one did not have me considering trying again; but I am glad I gave this one a chance. I was blown away by the flawless finesse this orchestra had in it's delivery. I had tears in my eyes for majority of the show just based on how beautiful each composition was as it played to the montage of each appropriate game. Nostalgia supreme. If I had one complaint it would be that it felt short to me. Could have certainly done with at least one more intermission before closing out. Minor complaint considering I may have just didn't want it to end, as there was mountains of content that could have been performed.
It was such a beautiful and breath taking event! The music was fantastic and Susan's voice was riveting! I absolutely loved it and will be going every year!
Great show, just like 4 years ago! The only fault was I believe the brass section should have been a bit louder to hit the shot notes. I was disappointed with hearing Battle of the Big Bridge and Battle with Four Fiends and barely able to hear the trumpets. Otherwise, perfect!
Final Fantasy Distant Worlds should be experienced by everyone who loves experiences.
The orchestra and choir were wonderful as was of course the music selection. Vocal soloist Susan Calloway is not only a fantastic looking woman but also a fantastic singer!
Distant Worlds blew me away. The seats were uncomfortable, but when the symphony began, I completely forgot about them. The two hour show felt like 5 minutes of pure bliss.
