About
Blanke on Tour
John Paul Orchison, better known by his stage name Blanke, is a versatile producer who likes to blend genres, often with an intense but melodic bass. Blanke is an Australian DJ and electronic music producer who has gained international acclaim. Following the release of his two EPs, ÆON: One and ÆON: Two, Blanke commenced his Earth to the Stars Tour, making stops in Australia, Canada and the United States. The Earth to the Stars tour marked Blanke's return following the COVID-19 pandemic and is his first headlining tour. His kinetic and dynamic shows have gained a rapidly growing following. In an interview with Noiseporn, when asked to describe his sound in three words, Blanke answered, "Ambitious, powerful, abrasive." Blanke's breakout came in 2015 with a remix of Death Ray Shake's "Not Many if Any." This was quickly followed by the Black Mamba/Koji EP (2016), Curiosity EP (2017), Sneaky Plans EP (2018), Change & Decay EP (2019), Change & Decay: The Fall EP (2020), Land of the Wayfarer EP (2022), ÆON: One EP and ÆON: Two EP.
Blanke Live in Concert
Originally from Canberra, Australia, Blanke was born in 1991. Discussing the origin of his creativity, Blanke credits his family. His mother is a painter and an artist in general who introduced him to the guitar. His father was a journalist, his sister is an artist, and his brother does drama. His music seemed to him a natural extension of his family's creativity. For his music, Blanke pulls inspiration from wherever he can, often following whatever his current obsessions are. His background in progressive metal, visual art and his fellow artists and collaborators all have had an influence on his unique musical style. On the question of his musical inspirations, Blanke cited Pendulum for their melodies and sound design, Tool for their timing and rhythm and A Perfect Circle for their melodies and intervals, as well as other artists Metrik, Sub Focus and Dimension. In 2021, Blanke was nominated for the Unearthed Artist of the Year honor at the J Awards. Blanke was also named Break Out Artist of 2019 on Reddit's r/EDM best of 2019 Awards. Blanke has more than 900,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, with his song "Death Rattle" boasting more than 10 million streams.
