What an amazing show. Gord Downie is all "HEART" for him to even be up on the stage singing his heart out is amazing and shows how Courageous this man is. To the greatest Canadian band ever. Thanks for the memories boys! "COURAGE"
I go to a lot of concerts, and this was something special. The crowd, the music, the farewell to Gordie, all of it made for an amazing evening that I will remember for the rest of my life. No amount of stars could portray what this event was. It was more than just a concert. It was decades of great music, memories, and life, centered around Canadian Icons in a farewell that could never be duplicated. Thank you Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip. You will be missed.
I've probably seen 10 Rock shows that were better than this show. It was my diet Hip experience and I couldn't believe how unengaged the band and Downie are. All the hipsters loved them... I just thought it was a bunch of old guys who can play ok and with lead singer who can't sing. Their studio work sounds 100 x better.
Nothing surprising here. They are a band whose live performances surpass the genius of their recordings. They are the ultimate Canadian bar band gone big. Nothing has changed except the size of the venue. Best Canadian band ever!
This was an amazing show! Of the four times I've seen the hip i think this was the best one yet.
Great set list tailored to the fans in Winnipeg. Very happy I was able to secure two pairs of tickets to this event through Ticketmaster. Happy to be a part of history.
From a true fan standpoint, the Tragically Hip put on a fantastic performance last Friday night. This was my 18th Hip show and will definitely go down as one of the most memorable. Without exaggeration, The Hip is my favourite band and has been for almost 30 years. The show went by in a flash and was over way too soon. Not that it was a short concert, but I just didn't want it to end. From where I was, I could see that there were a lot of people who kinda glazed over during the part of the show when the band played tunes from Man Machine Poem and Now For Plan A, but those were obviously the type of fans who only know the biggest/oldest hits and don't listen to the rest of the albums or keep up with the new material. Unfortunately that meant for a lull in the crowd around us for about half an hour, even though I personally enjoyed every minute and sang along with every song. It's so sad to think that this is the last tour and the last opportunity for fans to share a night with the band. I'm getting one last chance in Kingston though. I'm heading for show #19 in the Hip's hometown! Going to be an emotional trip. I wish Gord and the boys a great back half of the tour and all the best in the future.
Even with the difficulties getting tickets to the Hip, i was determined to see The Tragically Hip for the first and now last time! It was as expected, awesome!
I was one of the lucky fans to be able to get some tickets to the August 5th show in Winnipeg. The Man Machine Poem Tour concert was an emotional and powerful experience that carried me through from memories of their 1992 Fully Completely tour right up until their recent and fantastic newest addition to their album collection. Gord Downie never disappoints and dearly loves his audience and fans. The stage looked fantastic and the band stayed close to Gord throughout the evening showing their deep friendship for one another. I have not been to as many Hip concerts as I would like but this one was unforgettable! You could feel the love for Gord by every last one of us there and it was an incredible 2 hours of solid Hip! Two encores topped the evening! None of us wanted to see Gord walk off the stage for the last time! Best concert ever!
I would not miss this concert for anything. It was my very first Tragically Hip concert and I'm very grateful I got to experience it. I wanted to take in every single moment. Singing along to my favourite songs. Bonding with the others around me. An amazing night. From the second the band took the stage to the final moments where it was just Gord Downie saluting the crowd...you could just feel the love. The love everyone has for this iconic Canadian group. The love everyone has for its frontman. God bless you Gord Downie. Thank you Tragically Hip for the music and the memories.
I've seen the hip about a dozen times and this final show just blew me away! They played deep cuts from Up to Here (Opiated) , Phantom Power (Membership), Trouble at the Henhouse (Springtime in Vienna) and of course from my all time favourite album Road Apples (Last of the unplucked gems & Long Time Running). I felt so emotional that I cried at least 4 times! Especially when long time running played because that was my first dance song at my wedding! That hit me right in the feels! lol
We somehow lucked out and got tickets to this amazing show. Gord's performance was phenomenal and full of heart! The arena was packed and full of love and respect for a unique band, with their powerful lyrics, that have in many ways been a soundtrack for Canada for the last 25+ years. Beautiful experience! Grateful!
This was the best concert experience of my life. The atmosphere, the brand, the crowd, the legend.
I am so grateful to have been able to purchase tickets to this show...my husband and I had the opportunity to see Gord likely for the last time live and we are so thankful we did! Absolutely amazing entertainer! Loved every second of the show!
This evening was an emotional experience. To be able to see the Hip one last time is hard to come to terms with. Gord and the boys have never let me down with outstanding shows and music..this time was no different. We will miss you, Gord. ❤
Just amazing. Absolutely Speechless. May Gord Live on forever!
The show, as expected, was full of touching moments. There were thrilling highs and times of sadness. It was an experience I will keep forever. I have never been affected by news of the passing of singers in the past, but with the news of Gord I find myself very much affected. The Tragically Hip I had always pictured being able to see in concert every few years for the rest of my life, I guess I took it for granted. It's hard to believe that was the last time I will ever see a group that has been a part of my life for 25+ years. I have so many memories of their music playing during certain things I happened to be doing at the time. Being in the Whiteshell with friends every June for 10 years having them playing on the boathouse while we all hung out, driving out to the lake cranking them on the car stereo, sitting around a bonfire listening to them, it goes on and on. For me the concert was a way to say my own goodbye to Gord and thank him for all the great times The Hip was a part of in my life.
Such a strong performance and played a great set list!
The very first band I saw in a venue. So blessed to see their last show. Unreal.
