Sam Roberts Band back with a vengence
Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver
Saturday night’s show was incredible; I usually find myself in the crowd, nearest to the front as possible for SRB, but tonight is spent with a large group of friends at a table, watching the crowd and band interact – a rare treat actually! A mob of fans jumping on the Commodore’s bouncing floor in unison, singing back many of the hits including Them Kids, Don’t Walk Away Eileen, Where Have All the Good People Gone (hands raised at the appropriate times), and some of the new songs (stand out was Bad Country with Dave Nugent (Nuge) wailing on the guitar in the bridge! And special mention to bassist James Hall resplendent in a poncho!) The band was energetic as all get out, with the only respite being a few of the newer ballads from their latest album, The Adventures of Ben Blank, to which couples in the audience took advantage to slow dance with their sweeties. It's fantastic to have the band toss in some of the songs from All of Us – another stellar album that sort of got lost in the Covid shuffle of a few years ago. And Dead End from the archives made an appearance! Our first time hearing this song live.. loved it! Sam addressed the audience briefly a few times, conveying the band’s thankfulness of being back on stage, and appreciation for such a loud, warm reception from Vancouver, then back to the business of music. Brother Down hit the set list and Roberts ditched the guitar to sing with just a mic on a wire, ditching that too at one point to dance his heart out as the band extended the song to accommodate. Leaning down near the end to slap and shake hands, his face beaming in sweat and sheer joy – it’s infectious! After a short break (to apparently have the traditional shot of Jameson back stage), the band is back for a brief encore finishing the night with a 10+ minute rendition of Mind Flood – which Roberts once explained lets the band ‘noodle around’ and try new sounds together live. From experience, the longer Mind Flood becomes, the more the band appreciates the audience – and we were fantastic 🙂 The night was over too soon – despite Sam Roberts Band playing for just over 2 hours! Listening to a few people talk on the way out, one lad mentioned how many SRB songs he knew, without realizing he knew that many! Absolutely true! And one Sam Roberts Band show is NOT enough.. on to the Kelowna show! ©nightMairCreative.com https://nightmaircreative.com/2024/02/sam-roberts-band-back-with-a-vengeance/

Great band; wonderful performance
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary
Sam and his band rocked the Jube in Calgary. He played many of his hits as well as a few songs from his new album. Sam was dynamic on stage and played well with the audience creating good energy in the building. We very much enjoyed the music and the show. Recommend seeing Sam Roberts Band in future.

I love Sam Robert’s but
Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton
I love Sam Robert’s but there’s one thing I did not appreciate while sitting in a beautiful comfortable theatre is Sam encouraging every one to stand after the second song. I wasn’t in a bar, so now I had crazy woman dancing in front of me and screamers behind me. I came to see the Sam Robert’s Band play, I wasn't able to stand so about 3/4 quarters through the concert had enough of crazy woman dancing and left. I completely get getting the crowd up for the last few songs but in a beautiful theatre on song 2, it was wrong call for me.

An Unforgettable Night with Sam Roberts Band
Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton
I recently had the pleasure of attending a Sam Roberts Band concert at the Northern Alberta Jubilee, and let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible! From the moment they hit the stage, the energy was electric. Sam Roberts' charisma and the band's tight-knit chemistry had everyone on their feet, dancing and singing along to every song. Their performance was flawless! Whether you're a die-hard fan or just looking for a great night out, I highly recommend catching Sam Roberts Band live in concert. You won't be disappointed!

Love the band,

Sam is ALWAYS fantastic, venue was great. Tickets were outrageously price gouged. Should never be 300$+ the day of ticket sales then drop by the end of the day to 200$+. I ended up buying tickets for Red Deer through Showpass for front row center 60$ each and had to drive through horrible conditions to get there, Sam is worth seeing tenfold, Ticketmaster had to do better with their prices and stop using 'Official Platinum pricing'

Loved, loved, loved coming here for Sam Roberts! Art Decco was also incredible and had great stage presence. Staff were all very helpful and lovely during the event as well. The only thing I could say needed changing was some of the lighting sequences, it was bright white and flashing a little too much. I had to close my eyes for some songs because it just made my head hurt. But overall this was a great experience and Sam Robert's didn't disappoint with his obvious talent and love for creating great music.
